The Lego Batman Movie (Quick Takes)

3rd October 2017 - Movies
All hell breaks loose when The Joker (Zach Galifianakis) unleashes tons of villains such as Sauron, Lord Voldermort and King Kong on Gotham City and the ever anti-social Batman (Will Arnett) has to team up with Batgirl (Rosario Dawson), Robin (Michael Cera) and Alfred (Ralph Fiennes) to stop all the baddies.
The second movie in The Lego movies franchise, The Lego Batman Movie pretty much establishes the tone of this cinematic universe – sharp, self-aware and self-depreciating. From the ridiculously catchy fight sequences to Batman’s egoistic monologues, this movie is also laugh-out-loud levels of funny. Characters both new and old are brought together from their various universes into this chaotic mess. Under it all, this movie is not just a mindless, slapstick kids movie – but also a strong lesson in friendship and teamwork (cliched, I know.)
Rating: 4/5 Stars
(This was personally a 5/5 stars for me because I love this quirky sense of humor but it is a rather kiddy movie.)
